dont forget to rate this when your done not everyone would take the time to help someone out
part two. ok you know what not to do. now its time for some helpful pointers. personally my local mailman/woman hates me. i went from shipping nothing out to blasting up to 200 packages a month. thats alot of taping and scraping for boxes. local truckstops are great places to procure boxes for shipping also bubblewrap and other wadding to cushion the load. another helpful item is bags. especially heavy bags. for breakables you can inflate the bags then use a seal a meal sealer to seal the air in. dont rely on just air always when possible try to double box the break able, thats the only way ups will honor there insurance up to 100 dollars. also you may have noticed you cannot buy insurance for ups items anymore thru okay. if its truly valuable go down and purchase your label from ups and buy the extra insurance. we also purchased a paper shredder cuts down on our trash output and it makes awsome packaging. if you can find it (only seen it once) is a 2 part poly eurothane expanding foam kit. just make sure to use it with bags and not directly on the merchandise. also remember that you can obtain free labels thru ups just sign up for a free account. now something to be carefully of when selling larger items freight shipping. things you cant judge the weight accurately. your better off sending those freight collect. 9 out of 10 times they always gee back up to 2 weeks after the item is delivered and charge more against our credit card stating un accurate weight. ups tends to do the same. by that time try to get 50 to 100 bucks out of the buyer. good luck
recently i've gee to notice if you ship and print your labels from your home that the us postal service will not acknowledge the package until it reaches its destination. so heaven forbid they should lose the package guess what? insurance or no insurance they never had it. quite a little scam going on there. makes it especially difficult for my location being centrally located between las vegas and phoenix for some strange reason all packages have to go thru both shipping hubs no matter where there going. and all the major shipping hubs are manned with temp workers not requiring a background check. i spoke with a driver for the brown suit guys who used to drive for usps and he said its changed alot since he started. alot more gang bangers are employing all the major hubs. in two months time 6 laptops i shipped out never made there destination. another thing is priority doesn't meen priority anymore. from az to florida in a month. a very helpful thing to do to prevent missing packages is to print your address onto a piece of paper and stick it into the package. i once had a 20 gallon aluminum fuel tank disappear into thin air. also if its breakable double box it. thats the only way ups will honor there insurance which you can no longer purchase xtra thru paypal. so food for thought.
