There are 3 materials that models are made of plastic, metal and resin. Some plastic dealer promotional models from the late 1950's to the early 1960's warped over the years and thematerial was changed tothe non warping plastic that is still in use today. Resin models are made in small numbers by various makers and the quality varies. Resin kits require more skill to assemble than plastic or metal kits.Resin kits are made in simple molds and plastic kits are made in metal dies costing thousands of dollars to make.Die cast models are metal and sometimes are made in the same dies that plastic kits are made in.
