I can probrobaly put forth little passion into writing that I can into coding so bear with me. What I want to convey is why Windows users, and even Mac and Linux/BSD users should STRONGLY consider buying a Mac, even an old one.
In 1993 I was in IT at PHEAA (Harrisburg, Pa.-If you went to college we probably serviced your loan). I spent a couple years in Skiptracing then found myself in IT taking care of Unix systems. At the time I thought to myself "Why would anyone run such an antiquated system (gemand line, no GUI, wrechid to remember gemands, etc...)" Years gone by 1995 I'm now working for a gepany that runs and sells Windows Based Construction software. Fine. I'm one of the best database designers in the area and lend my expereince to the field. In 5 years I was able to help progress the industry from really crappy to moderately mediocore. Now in my personal life at the time I was as I was going back 9 years, A GEEK in the strictist of terms. Having my first application (GWBASIC-Boxing game) published when I was 12 years old through PCWorld, it even shipped on the disk! What a high point in my life. Anyways, I've always had a Mac. Why? They didn't break down, never crashed, and always worked. Even though I worked and lived in a Microsoft world I always made sure I had a Mac, Just in Case.
So why should you own a Mac? Well first off, NO VIRUS ATTACKS! NO ADWARE! Nothing of the sort can be placed on your system UNLESS you install it! Even web based picture viruses and trojan horses can do nothing to you! If you browse the web more than once a month this should motivate you NOW!
Whoa, Ok getting ahead here. Let's say your a busy person, like your not, and you gee home and just want the facts-Weather, news, stock prices, etc... You get on your PC, wait 5 mins for it to finish booting and wait another 30 seconds for IE to open up and take you to your homepage. Then you navigate to here and there, suddenly you notice you've spent 30 mins on the pc. Sound familiar? What if you could setup your PC to automatically turn on at 5pm and open up a place that shows you everything so when you got home all you had to do was push a button or move the mouse to wake it up and it showed you up to the second data? By a Mac with Tiger 10.4 OS X. Dashboard alone will save you as you can get widgets for everything, but die hard Windows users don't fret you'll get something like that in 2007, however Mac users have had it for 2 years now... And you call yourselves High Tech Redmond...
Imagine turning on a PC to get on the web and check e-mail, stocks, okay, whatever... And it takes less than 60 seconds to boot up and be on-line? Not gonna happen with a PC! Get a Mac.
Imagine the geputer doesn't slow to an absolute crawl after 6 months! Get a mac, speed is based on the OS and here's some good news it gets faster with every revision! So the newer the OS the faster your old Mac will be!
Ok convinced? You better be cause the future is looking at you through another OS! The Mac OS
Even if you just wanna see what the fuss is all about IT'S NOT GONNA COST you to have all these advantages and more! Check out the Software Packages available!
Do a search here for iMac G3 and buy anything that's 400mhz or faster with OS X on it. If it's got 10.4 BUY IT NOW! Always look for a NON-DOA or any other warranty.
Sorry we don't sell too many iMac's to make it worth our while to promote ourselves, just letting the world know there's a better life out there.
I'm not saying you need to ditch that grand plus PC you bought with a 5yr old OS on it, just try something else. YOU WILL LOVE IT and I'm saying that with MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCDBA, MCDST certifications from the other side.
To get the best sometimes you have to wonder around and try other things, Spending $50 on an iMac 400 G3 machine will do yourself a HUGE favor! Stick it in the kitchen or by the bed (they are SILENT BTW) and see what you use more. Most importantly is the OS, make sure to either get or install OS X 10.4, learn the Dashboard, and enjoy Virus, Adware, Spyware free interenet browsing!
