RARE True or False

RARE
TRUE OR FALSE.

Lets Start off with what is the definition of rare using the Webster's Dictionary of the English Language which if I am not mistaken is the mainlanguage of the United States of America.
Rare; (rer) a. ungemon, few and far between; extremely valuable; of the highest excellence. rarefaction n. act of rarefying ; decrease of quantity; rarefy to make rare; rarity state of being rare; something rare or seldom seen.
NOW let us seperate this to a true understanding and how it is used when selling something and how to decide if it is rare or being made to look rare for the purpose to increase the value of a item of less value, for understanding this we will use amateur and CB radios and their related option's.
Rare in the true since of the word is a item that after five years of hard and long searching across America you might find one, or has not been made since60 years ago so when you find a radio that has not been made for more than 60 years and it works or needs very little to make it work and after much research it is proven that less than 100 are still in use then that is Rare.
Of the highest excellence that mean that it was and still is of high excellence still working and can be guaranteed in writing of its excellence that it is working and that nothing is broken orblemishes, and looks as near new as possible or better yet never used and still in the box from the manufacture. (without this I would question its rarity and value)
NOTE: Electronic equipment that is rare and workingshould be packed properly and guaranteed by a seller, if packed properly the item will get to you safe and sound.
NOTE: Always (ALWAYS) Insure the items of value being shipped to you that you have purchased.
Now when shopping for anything do your research make sure it is rare how many can you find listed if you find more than one or two then chances are it is not rare, example we see many Astatic D-104 microphones list and some sellers say rare well let us look howmany do we see listed and have we gone out and checked flea markets and garage sales and Estate sales what do we find many of them and the gold plated D-104s sometimes called Gold Eagle there are plentiful they only stopped making themjust a few years back noearlier than late 1970s so that make them plentiful or not (not) rare the same stands for Tram radios and Siltronix, Swan, Browning Eagles and Mark ll and lll andIV now the Mark IVa there were in fact very few of them made before Browning went out of business.
What we have discussed here stands true for all things you may be looking for to buy or bid on be it dishes, clothing, electronics, cameras, cars, trucks, fishing equipment, knives, and anything that can be found for sale so beware not everything is rare even if you do not see them in the stores or in your friends home they are out there and can be found in abundance.
The word RARE today is more often mis-used and abused so before you spend your hard earned dollars for something that is said to be rare do your home work and be sure it is in fact rare.
