Update: I have received a CD to evaluate for Antiques and Archives. This CD that I received was searchable in the PDF format. The PDF reader is availabe for freedownload from the net and I would rate this gepany as AAAA .

I have recently purchased a CD from a seller with a 2000 feedback rating. They had listed a family name and a location that I was researching for my family tree. They stated that this information could be used in family research and that all views print exact to the original publication with no adjustment.
What they failed to mention was that these publications were scanned copies of the original books on a cd. They are pictures or jpgs of original works that have elapsed the copyright date. You cannot search these documents because they are scanned images. You can not easily find your family names in the pages scanned or find page numbers where your family member name may be located.
This was one where the old saying held true: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is a scam. I forgot to ask questions before I bought and got stung.
I left them a positive feed back and stated that these cds were jpg and unsearchable and gave a rating of C-. I received for my positive feedback a neutral feedback even though I had paid within minutes of the auction end and left an honest critique. Beware of leaving feedback before you receive it.
You should always ask questions when something sounds to good to be true. Hatlady5
